Every Fourth of July we celebrate our nation’s history and pause to reflect on the freedoms and values we share as Americans.
Our country was founded as a new experiment in self-government, and we all play a vital role in continuing the success of the union our Founding Fathers started 241 years ago. Although we continue to face challenges, we have come far as a country because we have stood together as Americans. Let us remember today that we are one nation, and that there is no challenge we cannot overcome when we are united. With the many divisions that exist in our country today, let us never forget that the bonds we share and celebrate on Independence Day are far, far stronger than whatever differences we may have.
Again, I want to wish everyone a happy Fourth of July! To stay up to date on the work I am doing in Congress please visit my website at costa.house.gov and sign up for my e-newsletter here.
