ICYMI: GOP votes down election security funding

Democratic Association of Secretaries of State This week, our focus is on election cybersecurity and the threats we’re seeing now, 74 days before Election Day. Where is the Republican Congress on this issue? Asleep at the switch.

In the US Senate, the Republican majority cancelled the committee hearing of the Secure Elections Act. Meanwhile, voter suppression measures continue in dozens of states.

One bit of good news is the defeat of a Republican led plan to close 7 of the 9 polling places in Randolph County, Georgia, a majority African American county that deserves fair access to the polls in this and every election.

Democratic Secretaries of State across the country continue to work hard to ensure that our elections are both secure and accessible.
