The NRA and my opponent

*** No candidate for Attorney General has been endorsed by the CDP ***

My Republican opponent who claims to be leading in the polls is boasting about receiving an “A” grade from the NRA.  But what’s worse: he ends a public statement about the NRA endorsing him by telling Californians to “Mount up!”

As my opponent put it,”I have only one thing to say to gun owners as we head toward election day — ‘Mount Up!'”

This is dangerous rhetoric.

CNN reported this week that we’ve had 57 times as many school shootings in America than in all other industrialized nations, combined, since 2009. This figure, along with the gun violence that’s prevalent on our streets, should make us all cringe — and demand solutions.

Can you chip in $5 today to help me in our fight to prevent gun violence?

One innocent life lost is too many.

In California, we’ve taken on the gun lobby and won.

Our special agents travel across California every week to confiscate illegally held weapons. This is a one-of-a-kind program. In some instances, our agents enter homes expecting to find two illegal weapons and instead find dozens.

We’re doing something right in California to have received a “F”!

But I can’t continue this effort to advance gun safety alone, especially with my Republican opponent telling his supporters through a public statement to “Mount up!”

Will you give $5 to stand with me for gun safety?

Thank You,

Tonight is a landmark for us all

*** No candidate for U.S. Senate has been endorsed by the CDP ***

It can be easy to feel discouraged in today’s American political climate. But tonight, we witnessed a major reason to feel hopeful.

Tonight, former House minority leader Stacey Abrams won the Democratic nomination to become Georgia’s Governor. Not just any Governor.

Georgia’s first female Governor.

Georgia’s first African-American Governor.

America’s first black woman to Govern any state in the history of our United States.

Tonight is a landmark because Senator Abrams represents all “unapologetic progressives” across this nation. She represents everyday hardworking people who fight tooth and nail for what is right because they lead with their heart and are guided by their values.

Senator Abrams step toward victory shows us that voters aren’t asleep at the wheel — that they overwhelmingly demand real representation over a truly dysfunctional status quo.

Michael, we’re officially 2 weeks away from the California primary.

If you can, please consider chipping in $3 to support my campaign to join Senator Abrams in bringing the most progressive policies to our state, and to our nation.

Thank you for being with me on this journey to a better future.

Together in victory,

Democrats, it’s time to take back control!

Dear Fellow Democrat:

This month, California Republicans surprised no one by siding with corporate America against common-sense consumer privacy rights in California. But when big corporations try to take advantage of consumers, California Democrats are fighting back by supporting the California Consumer Privacy Act.

With their opposition to the California Consumer Privacy Act, Republicans showed exactly where their values lie: with Google, Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Facebook and special interests like the California New Car Dealers Association and the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, all of whom are currently funding the million dollar-opposition against crucial consumer protections for Californians and our families.

We’re putting together an action team of grassroots Democrats interested in making sure our state and local Party stands with consumers against big corporations and data brokers.

Can you help us contact Democratic clubs, Central Committees and local elected officials to engage them in this crucial campaign? Click HERE to get involved.

The California Consumer Privacy Act will:

  1. Give Californians the right to know what information big businesses are collecting about us & our families;
  2. Give us the power to decide if we want companies to stop selling our personal information; and;
  3. Hold companies accountable for data breaches and breaking the law.

The California Consumer Privacy Act reached a major milestone and submitted over 625,000 signatures to qualify for the November ballot. As the grassroots campaign to empower consumers to take back control over our data gains momentum, we need your support!

Together, we must stand up for consumer rights and take back control of our personal information by supporting the California Consumer Privacy Act on the November ballot.

In Solidarity,

Daraka Larimore-Hall
Vice Chair
California Democratic Party

Dear Supporters,

June 5th, Election Day, is just 14 days away. Team Miller is busy ensuring that District 3 voters are introduced to my background and plans for the community. The process has been a successful one because of the help and assistance you have provided.

As the primary campaign process comes to an end, I asking again for your support. To ensure the campaign has a strong finish, additional financing is needed. Happy Harvey Milk Day!

*** No candidate for Attorney General has been endorsed by the CDP ***

Today is Harvey Milk Day in California, when we celebrate the legacy of gay rights activist and the state’s first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk. And we re-dedicate ourselves to the fight for LGBTQ rights.

“Harvey Milk was a tremendous civil rights activist and leader. Today is a day to honor Harvey Milk’s brave efforts in working to defeat discrimination against the LGBTQ community,” said California Insurance Commissioner and Democratic candidate for Attorney General Dave Jones.

LGBTQ rights are human rights. And if elected the next Attorney General, Jones will continue to stand with the LGBTQ community in advancing a progressive agenda in the state of California.

The Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club – San Francisco’s largest Democratic club – has endorsed Dave Jones for California Attorney General.

“The Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club membership affirmatively endorsed Dave Jones for Attorney General because of his track record of being a true progressive activist and a friend of the LGBTQ community,” said Carolina Morales and Honey Mahogany, co-presidents of the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club. “The Club’s membership determined that Dave Jones is the most qualified candidate to resist Trump and his regressive policies, and that Dave can deliver swift action and tangible results.”

In addition to the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club, other prominent LGBTQ organizations have endorsed Dave Jones for Attorney General, including the Stonewall Democratic Club, the Stonewall Young Democrats, Sacramento Stonewall Democrats, Tulare County Stonewall Democrats, Sacramento Rainbow PAC and Rainbow Chamber of Commerce.

Happy Harvey Milk Day!

Team Dave Jones

Republicans want Cox

*** No candidate for Governor has been endorsed by the CDP ***

Delaine Eastin for Governor 2018

We are surging.

This week has been nothing but good news for the campaign. In addition to polls showing the race for second place tightening, I attended an amazing event hosted by Sherry Lansing in Los Angeles, and my television ad, “Cut Out the Middle Men” has taken to the airwaves with a powerful response.

Unfortunately, one Democratic Candidate for governor is on record advocating for a republican challenger. And he’s using his millions to attack two of his Democratic opponents while tacitly elevating Republican John Cox.

California is vying to swing multiple Congressional seats. The one thing that can stop us is if a Republican makes the top two in this election. Why? Because, according to vulnerable Republican Congresswoman Mimi Walters, polls show Republican turnout surging 30% in such a scenario.

This is a line straight from the Republican handbook: “If we want to stop Nancy Pelosi from returning as Speaker of the House, then we need to make sure John Cox advances to the November run-off.”

Let’s be clear, in order to protect and defend our very democracy, we need to elect a Democratic Congress this November.

Right now, the media is recognizing that I have a real chance, and our campaign is catching fire at this critical moment. Our campaign of former “berniecrats” and “nasty women” is a winning coalition.

Right now, I just need to reach more voters. I need you to step up to volunteer, and I need you to donate so I can spread my ad into more markets so voters can hear my message and learn my name.

We have two weeks. The race for second place could be decided by a handful of votes. We can do this.
