Republicans want Cox

*** No candidate for Governor has been endorsed by the CDP ***

Delaine Eastin for Governor 2018

We are surging.

This week has been nothing but good news for the campaign. In addition to polls showing the race for second place tightening, I attended an amazing event hosted by Sherry Lansing in Los Angeles, and my television ad, “Cut Out the Middle Men” has taken to the airwaves with a powerful response.

Unfortunately, one Democratic Candidate for governor is on record advocating for a republican challenger. And he’s using his millions to attack two of his Democratic opponents while tacitly elevating Republican John Cox.

California is vying to swing multiple Congressional seats. The one thing that can stop us is if a Republican makes the top two in this election. Why? Because, according to vulnerable Republican Congresswoman Mimi Walters, polls show Republican turnout surging 30% in such a scenario.

This is a line straight from the Republican handbook: “If we want to stop Nancy Pelosi from returning as Speaker of the House, then we need to make sure John Cox advances to the November run-off.”

Let’s be clear, in order to protect and defend our very democracy, we need to elect a Democratic Congress this November.

Right now, the media is recognizing that I have a real chance, and our campaign is catching fire at this critical moment. Our campaign of former “berniecrats” and “nasty women” is a winning coalition.

Right now, I just need to reach more voters. I need you to step up to volunteer, and I need you to donate so I can spread my ad into more markets so voters can hear my message and learn my name.

We have two weeks. The race for second place could be decided by a handful of votes. We can do this.

You had one job, Valadao

*** TJ Cox has been endorsed for CD-21 by the CDP ***

Unseat David Valadao for not doing his job →

Last week, Congress voted on the Farm Bill, the legislation that impacts everything from Food Stamps to agricultural subsidies. These are HUGE issues for working families in Central Valley.

At a time when Central Valley farmers and workers are being threatened by a Trump-led trade war, our sitting Representative, David Valadao, ABSTAINED from voting.

It’s simple, Michael. Now more than ever, we need a representative who will stand up to Trump for this community and DO THEIR JOB — not an empty suit who won’t take a stand.

We have to make a change and we need your help. Make a grassroots donation to send Democrat TJ Cox to replace “No Show” David Valadao >>

If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

In Congress, TJ will fight for a better Farm Bill for the Central Valley — one that protects SNAP, emphasizes environmental stewardship, and protects our farmers and workers.

Chip in to make sure Democrat TJ Cox has the grassroots resources to flip this seat >>

Thanks for your support,

TJ Cox for Congress

We can get a lot done in two weeks

*** No candidate for U.S. Senate has been endorsed by the CDP ***

We’re 15 days away from one of the most important elections in the history of California. This is our opportunity to show the folks in Washington and nationwide that the Drumpf administration does not define our values.

Ballots are out and the stakes are high.

We’re not only fighting to preserve the progress we’ve made in California — we’re fighting to go further.

Because Medicare-for-All and meaningful immigration reform aren’t just a vision for California, they’re a pathway for the nation.

You may wonder what we can do with only 15 days to go before the June 5 primary — here’s my answer:

  1. Sign up to volunteer in your neighborhood
  2. Donations of $3 or $5 are critical in helping spread the word, make phone calls and help get people to the polls
  3. Forward this email to your friends and family

Turnout is key in this primary, and these last 15 days are where we’ll make the biggest impact.

Your time as a volunteer or your contribution as a donor are not just invaluable, they’re key to our victory.

Together, we’ll show California what real progressive values look like when we demand a change and disrupt the DC status quo.

Keep going,

We haven’t heard your thoughts on Trump’s tariffs?

*** TJ Cox has been endorsed for CD-21 by the CDP ***

Do you support President Trump’s trade tariffs?

YES >> NO >>

Throughout the Central Valley, farmers and business owners are growing concerned about the possible trade war being caused by Trump. TJ Cox works in the almond business and believes Trump’s trade tariffs do nothing but threaten local businesses, good-paying jobs, and economic growth in the Central Valley.

Even with our local economy at risk, David Valadao REFUSES to ask Trump the tough questions to prevent a trade war.

We still need to hear from 2,120 Democrats. Can you take our one-minute survey and tell us where you stand on Trump’s trade tariffs?

My opponent’s claim

*** No candidate for Attorney General has been endorsed by the CDP ***

One of my Republican opponents claims to be leading in the polls. This is my same Republican opponent who says he’s running “to take this state in a different direction.”

Right now California leans forward.

We’re leaning forward to advance clean air and drinking water, to make sure everyone possible can afford a doctor, to right wrongs in our criminal justice system, to stop sex trafficking, gangs and gun violence, to end financial fraud against students, seniors and workers who use their hands to help build California.

Moving “in a different direction” would put all of this at risk.

California is the economic engine of our country. This didn’t happen overnight. It took people like you and me standing together — standing up to defend our rights and to advance fairness and opportunity.

Will you chip in $5 to help me keep California forward-leaning?

We’ve had at least 18 legal victories in federal court to protect our values.

With your help, I’m ready to continue the fight for our families — for their safety and the important principle of our nation that everyone who works hard deserves a chance to get ahead.

But with my Republican opponent claiming he’s leading in the polls, we cannot take anything for granted.

Can you give $5 or more today?

Together, I know we can keep moving forward!

Thank You,

“Yuck” is right…

*** TJ Cox has been endorsed for CD-21 by the CDP ***

TJ Cox for Congress

That was the message I received from my daughter after I texted her a picture of Fresno’s air quality.

If you’re in Fresno, you probably agree: Yuck is right.

If you’re not, take it from the American Lung Association which reports that four out of the ten most polluted cities in the ENTIRE COUNTRY are right here in the Central Valley.

That’s why it’s so disappointing that David Valadao has been absent on this issue, but still managed to take $205,000 from the oil and gas industry while doing nothing to hold Trump accountable for his anti-environmental agenda.

In Congress, I’ll fight to clean the Central Valley’s air, and I’ll stand up to Trump and the fossil fuel industry. But that means I’m depending on grassroots support from folks like you to fuel this campaign. Can you chip in a donation of $5 or more to my race?

We’re at crisis levels, and while I applaud our local agencies, activists, and businesses who are working together to reduce air pollution in the Central Valley, it’s clear that we don’t have an ally in David Valadao.

Chip in $5 or more to help me defeat Valadao and push back against Trump’s attacks on our environment >>

Thanks for all you do,

TJ Cox

It’s been another productive week for the CDP. See below for a recap of this week’s activities.

Trump’s Comments About ‘Animals’ Were Unthinkable

Trump’s latest assault on basic human decency was to call immigrants ‘animals.’ We’ve released a video response – take a look below, and please share it on Facebook:

Another Damn Shooting

Thoughts and Prayers didn’t work after Columbine. Or Sandy Hook. Or San Bernardino. Or Isla Vista. Or Las Vegas. Or Pulse Night Club. Or Charleston. Or Parkland. Or San Antonio.

Thoughts and prayers won’t bring back Stephon Clark. Or Philando Castile. Or Trayvon Martin.

Thoughts and prayers won’t bring back the tens of thousands of women who’ve been killed because their abusive partner –  many of whom were known to law enforcement for being abusive – had ready access to a gun.

Thoughts and prayers won’t bring back the tens of thousands of men and women who put a gun to their own head and pulled the trigger because we don’t provide even the barest minimum of support to people struggling with depression, Post Traumatic Stress, and mental illness.

We are not helpless to fix this problem. This doesn’t have to be our way of life. We shouldn’t have to explain to little babies what ‘sheltering in place’ means or why they need to know how to take cover in closets or under their desks.

There is a way to prevent this. We don’t have to be the only nation where this happens regularly.

We must break the NRA’s stranglehold on Congress. As Democrats, we have multiple opportunities to defeat NRA stooges from our own state, and we must redouble our efforts to capture these seats.

And as Americans, we mourn our young brothers and sisters who were killed in Texas yesterday, just as we mourn all of the innocent lives that have been lost to gun violence in our country.

Instead of our usual ‘x number of days until the election,’ we’ll sign-off this week with (still our) President Obama’s beautiful and deeply moving tribute to an earlier group of victims of gun violence:
