Democratic Women’s Club to host ‘Barbara Boxer Office Party’ May 23

Senator Barbara BoxerThe Fresno County Democratic Women’s Club and Democrats In Action invite you to show your support for California’s junior senator at the ‘Barbara Boxer Office Party,’ scheduled noon-2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the Democrats In Action office, 255 N. Fulton, Suite 104, in Fresno.

The event sponsors will provide snacks, beverages, and plenty of resource information about Senator Barbara Boxer and her campaign for re-election. The event will include a conference call with Senator Boxer scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., with a bit of question-and-answer time to follow.

Five candidates to speak at West Fresno Democratic Club meeting May 15

Five candidates for office are scheduled to speak at the next general meeting of the West Fresno Democratic Club,  scheduled 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15. Scheduled to appear are:

  • Henry T. Perea, running for the 31st Assembly District
  • Cynthia Sterling, running for Supervisor – Fresno County District One;
  • Oliver Baines, running for Fresno City Council District 3;
  • Rogenia Cox also running for Fresno City Council District 3; and
  • Daren Miller, running for Fresno City Council District 5.

The meeting will take place at Salaam’s Restaurant, 841 F Street, in Fresno. With the June 8 Primary Election just a couple of weeks away, the West Fresno Democratic Club has expanded this general meeting to help voters meet as many of the candidates as possible. The Club’s regular business meeting will follow the candidates’ presentations.
