The momentum is building — we can do this!

The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.

On Tuesday, November 7, we saw something happen in Virginia and New Jersey that truly inspired me as a progressive and Democrat. With so much at stake in our nation, I was proud to see Democrats come together and deliver a sweeping set of victories, from gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey all the way down the ballot to the Palm Springs City Council, which just elected its first transgender councilmember.Democrats are continuing to carry the torch against the Trump Administration’s bigoted and divisive policies, and I stand as ready as ever to meet the challenges we face head on.

Can I count on you to stand with me?

It has been a busy few weeks on my campaign, and the momentum is building! I am truly honored to have received the support of the California Teachers Association, which represents 325,000 educators in California’s public schools and colleges! CTA’s endorsement was especially touching for me because of an amazing woman and educator I have looked up to my entire life: my mom.

As you can see above, she was truly ecstatic, which isn’t surprising given that she is a former substitute teacher and high school art teacher of 19 years! I’m proud to have CTA’s endorsement because they represent educators like my mom who selflessly devote their lives to preparing the next generation of Californians to be competitive and successful in today’s global economy.

Having the support of California’s working men and women is truly humbling. That’s why I’m also excited to have earned the support of SEIU California! Representing social workers, nurses, classroom aides, security officers, college professors, home care workers, janitors, and others, SEIU CA stands up for the rights of over 700,000 working Californians. I’m honored to have their strong support.
